About Monique C. Edwards

Every client who walks through our doors is dealing with something that has upended their life.

My job is to make sure the firm behind that fight is built to give them the best possible outcome.

Monique Carkum Edwards

For over twenty years, I practiced corporate law on Wall Street, closing billions of dollars in transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, business process outsourcing, software licensing, and strategic partnerships, and later serving as general counsel for global business segments of Honeywell International.

From there, I built a second career as an executive coach, facilitator, and speaker, working with organizations including Facebook, NBC Universal, Microsoft, Delta Airlines, Morgan Stanley, Colgate-Palmolive, and American Express.

In the years between, I also spent time in ministry and ran my own leadership consulting practice for executive women – work that shaped how I think about people as much as my legal career shaped how I think about risk. Most recently, before joining The Edwards Firm full-time, I served as a Principal Learning Partner for Harvard Business Publishing, helping Global 2000 companies strengthen their leadership.

That range of experience across corporate law, business operations, and executive leadership shapes the standard I hold for how this firm is run today.

I met my husband, Lennon C. Edwards, at a church singles event just after we’d both finished law school. What started there grew into a marriage, a family, and eventually a firm we built together and are both proud of.

When Lennon left his former practice to start his own, I stepped in to help with the fundamentals: forming the entity, setting up operations, getting the business off the ground. What began as a short-term side project became a full-time commitment, and I made the decision to leave a career I loved in executive leadership development to help build something I believed in even more.

My work is everything that makes it possible for Lennon and our attorneys to focus entirely on theirs: the strategy, the operations, and the discipline that determine whether a firm can actually deliver on what it promises its clients.

A law firm can only fight as hard as the business behind it allows. That’s the standard I hold for this one, too. I’ve spent my career building exactly that kind of infrastructure for organizations far larger than ours, and I bring the same rigor here.
